$43,900
What truck do I need?
1-ton dually recommended
Start with a properly equipped F-350/F-450 or 3500 dual-rear-wheel truck.
- Maximum loaded RV weight (GVWR)
- 16,500 lb
- 16,500 lb (exact-unit label)
- Tow rating to plan for at full GVWR
- At least 16,500 lb
- Fifth-wheel
Allow for 2,475 lb–4,125 lb of pin / hitch load at full GVWR. Planning estimate only (15–25%), not a measured weight. Add passengers, hitch hardware and truck cargo when checking payload.
Check your exact vehicle before towing
Unloaded reference: 13,305 lb (manufacturer model average). Loaded weight will be higher.
Truck classes are shopping recommendations, not manufacturer minimums or towing approval. Check the exact year, engine, axle ratio, cab, drivetrain and towing package. Loaded truck and trailer weights must stay within towing, payload, GVWR, GCWR, axle, tire and hitch limits. Use scale weights to confirm the combination.
Exact-unit labels take precedence over model references. Never use dry weight alone to choose a tow vehicle.
Manufacturer towing and payload guidanceDescription
If you need a fifth wheel with enough room for the whole family—but still want a comfortable living room for the adults—this 2017 Jayco North Point 377RLBH is a great setup. The separate mid-bunk can be used for kids, guests or a private office, and the overhead loft adds another sleeping space without taking room away from the main living area. Four slide-outs open up the interior. In back, there is theater seating, a tri-fold sofa, a large television and a fireplace. Across from it, the kitchen island gives you plenty of prep space, along with solid-surface counters, a microwave, range and stainless French-door residential refrigerator. Up front, the private bedroom, full bathroom and generous storage make it comfortable for longer trips. The exact-unit Cummins Onan RV QG 5500 EVAP generator, exterior television, dual awnings, six-point electric auto-leveling and 50-amp service round out a very well-equipped North Point.
