The 2022 model reference is about 9,906 lb unloaded with a 1,893 lb dry hitch weight. Many properly equipped 3/4-ton trucks can be considered, but a 1-ton may be needed after passengers, cargo, the fifth-wheel hitch, and loaded pin weight are counted.

The 3740BH reference is about 13,884 lb unloaded, with a 2,900 lb dry hitch weight and 16,800 lb GVWR. A dual-rear-wheel 1-ton is strongly recommended and may be required once the RV is loaded; many single-rear-wheel trucks will run out of payload first.

Before any self-tow rental: the actual RV weight label and the truck's door-jamb payload label control. Tow rating, available payload, rear-axle and tire ratings, fifth-wheel hitch rating, passengers, and bed cargo must all be checked. A “250/2500” or “350/3500” badge by itself does not approve a truck.
